a full recovery

james has made a full recovery from his sinus infection. thank goodness. today, he watched the deer in the backyard & played with his snow trucks.

meanwhile, connor has been taking his 3-6 month clothes out for a test drive. this sleeper was nice & cozy this AM, as you can see...

go, connor, go!

while poor james was napping, trying to recover from his nasty sinus infection, connor was going nuts on his playmat

the past few days

...
on sunday, connor had his baptism. he & james were both so good at church. the afternoon was filled with family & food. it was a wonderful day!
...

...
connor has picked this up from james - when daddy gets home, we are ALL smiles!
...

...
yesterday was stir-crazy central - we bundled up & got outside for a half-hour. it was 32 degrees, but little toasty connor was happy as a clam in his stroller

and in the blue corner...

...weighing in at a whopping 13lbs, 3.5oz, having doubled his birth weight in a mere 10 weeks, growing 2 1/2 inches in the past 6 weeks, the red-headed firecracker from NH.... CONNOR!

...and in the red corner... weighing the same 27lbs he's been for 6 months now... the lean, mean, getting taller every day, finally with a much-needed haircut, ball of energy.... JAMES!

a monday morning miracle at market basket

so, because we had little to no food in the house, i had to take both boys to the supermarket this morning. i knew connor would need to sleep very soon, but figured in the bjorn with all the people & things to look at, it could work. he spent 15 minutes in the bjorn for the first time facing forward over the weekend, so i was hoping he would be able to tolerate it for a little longer today. risky - i know.

he did great at first, looking around, watching james in the cart. seemed comfy enough.

then i was distracted by shopping & didn't realize....

HE FELL ASLEEP IN IT! FACING FORWARD! WITH ARMS & LEGS DANGLING!!!

strangers kept commenting on how cute he looked. the cashiers were floored.

somehow, he nestled his little head between the bjorn & my neck/chin. he never head-bobbed once. ...seriously!

he stayed asleep until i took him out & put him back in his car seat!

you may need to currently have a 10-week-old & a 2-year-old to fully grasp the miraculous nature of this day.

and to make the story even better.... he slept the whole way home & then hung out in his bouncy seat until all the groceries were put away before he squeaked quietly to let me know he was hungry.

AND - james was totally well-behaved. no hanging half his body out of the cart to reach for things. no screeching for fun. and, he only dropped his stuffed animal 3 times!

AMAZING.

note: i didn't leave there with everything i needed b/c i was rushing & distracted, but i came pretty darn close!

connor's new chair

connor burnt out his bouncy seat the other night, so we took our handy-dandy coupon & headed for babies 'r us. we love the new seat!

it even tilts back for when he zonks out...

doug & james will be home from ice fishing in a few hours - will hopefully get pix up mid-week! : )
